o)    Is there a Reiki support group in my area or can you help me establish one?
p)    Will you openly support me in being a successful Reiki practitioner or Master?

Reiki's Role in Natural Healing

REIKI’s role in NATURAL HEALING

The philosophical roots of Natural Healing dates back to thousands of years. Drawing from the healing wisdom of many cultures including Indian (Ayurveda), Chinese (Traditional Chinese Medicine), Native American, and Greek (Hippocratic), natural medicine is a medical system based on six time-based principles:

a)    The Healing power of nature: The body has considerable power to heal itself, and the role of the healer is to facilitate this natural process with the aid of natural, nontoxic therapies.

b)    Treat the cause rather the effect: Natural healers and physicians seek the underlying cause of disease rather than simply suppressing the symptoms. They avoid the natural healing wisdom of the body, such as fever and inflammation. Symptoms are viewed as expressions of the body’s natural attempt to heal while the causes can spring from the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual levels.

c)    Cause no harm: By employing safe and effective natural therapies, natural healers are committed to the principle of causing no harm to the patient.

d)    Treat the whole person: The individual is viewed as a whole, composed of complex interaction of physical, mental/emotional, and spiritual, social, environmental and other factors. This approach results in a therapeutic approach in which no disease is automatically seen as incurable.

e)    The physician is the teacher: Natural and spiritual healers are first and foremost teachers who educate, empower and motivate the patient to assume more personal responsibility for his or her health by adopting a healthy attitude, lifestyle and diet.

f)    Prevention is the best cure: Natural healing physicians are preventive medicine specialists. Prevention of disease is accomplished through education and a lifestyle that supports health.

In the natural system of medicine, disease is seen as a manifestation of the natural causes by which the body heals itself. For example, fever and inflammation are viewed as the body’s way of dealing with an imbalance that is undermining the healthy functioning of the body. However, if the cause of the imbalance is not removed, the inflammatory responses will continue, either at a lower level of intensity or intermittently. This can be the origin of chronic disease. Healing a chronic disease required removal of the underlying cause. This usually culminates in a return of an acute episode, called healing crises or reaction, a keynote of natural medical theory. Following this the condition improves.

The natural healer/physician emphasizes therapeutic choice based on individual interest and experience and maintains a consistent philosophy. All have been trained in the basic tools of natural therapeutics, and most work with diet and nutrition while specializing in one or more other therapeutic methods.

Natural medicine can be applied in any health care situation, but its strongest area is in the treatment of chronic and degenerative disease. For severe, acute traumas such as serious automobile accident, emergencies in childbirth, or orthopedic problems requiring corrective surgery, this is not recommended, although it can contribute to such cases, especially in recovery process.

In other acute cases, such as ear infections and common illnesses with fever, these are assessed and the underlying causes such as diet, life stresses and occupational hazards are considered before prescribing a few means to deal with the problem.

On the other hand in chronic cases, the procedure is different. A thorough case history has to be taken an all the symptoms and complaints with his lifestyle is to be considered for final evaluation and if necessary laboratory tests may be done to determine the central problem. As an example, many symptoms can be tied to the effects of toxemia on the different systems of the body such as the immune system, nervous system or circulatory system. While others diseases or illnesses may be due to emotional factors, such as chronic urinary infection when there is history of sexual abuse.

What ever the diagnoses may be, it is handled in the most appropriate natural way with the aim of bringing relief and cure to the effected patient.

The Principles of Reiki Practice

The 5 Principles of Reiki Practice:

Just for today, I will not get angry
Just for today I will not worry
Just for today I be filled with gratitude
Just for today I shall do my work with honesty
Just for today I will be kind to all living beings

Every morning and evening, join your hands in prayer.
Pray these words to your heart and chant these words with your mouth

THE SEVEN SPIRITUAL LAWS OF SUCCESS

I. THE LAW OF PURE POTENTIALITY
The source of all creation is pure consciousness...pure potentiality seeking expression from the un-manifest to the manifest. And when we realize that our true self is one of pure potentiality, we align with the power that manifests everything in the universe.

II. THE LAW OF GIVING
The universe operates through dynamic exchange...giving and receiving are aspects of the flow of energy in the universe. And in our willingness to give that which we seek, we keep the abundance of the universe circulating in our lives.

III. THE LAW OF "KARMA" OR CAUSE AND EFFECT
Every action generates a force of energy that returns to us in like kind...what we sow is what we reap. And when we choose actions that bring happiness and success to others, the fruit of our karma is happiness and success.

IV. THE LAW OF LEAST EFFORT
Nature's intelligence functions with effortless ease...with “carefreeness”, harmony, and love.
And when we harness the forces of harmony, joy, and love, we create success and good fortune with effortless ease.

V. THE LAW OF INTENTION AND DESIRE
Inherent in every intention and desire is the mechanics for its fulfillment...intention and desire in the field of pure potentiality having infinite organizing power. And when we introduce an intention in the fertile ground of pure potentiality, we put this infinite organizing power to work for us.

VI. THE LAW OF DETACHMENT
In detachment lays the wisdom of uncertainty...in the wisdom of uncertainty lies freedom from our past, from the unknown, which is the prison of past conditioning. And in our willingness to step into the unknown, the field of all possibilities, we surrender ourselves to the creative mind that orchestrates the dance of the universe.

VII. THE LAW OF "DHARMA" OR PURPOSE IN LIFE
Everyone has a purpose in life...a unique gift or special talent to give to others. And when we blend this unique talent with service to others, we experience the ecstasy and exultation of our own spirit, which is the ultimate goal of all goals.

SEVEN DIFFERENT GOD RESPONSES

RESPONDING TO LIFE'S CHALLENGES – The key to long-term fulfillment is how you respond to life’s many challenges. Expand your repertoire of responses and you will discover that by shifting your God response, you can influence the outcome of any situation or circumstance in life. Each one reflects a distinct mode of functioning of the human nervous system, the supreme product of millions of years of biological evolution.

I. FIGHT-OR-FLIGHT
This response enables us to survive in the face of danger. It is linked to a God who wants to protect us, like a parent who looks out for the safety of a small child. We turn to this God when we perceive that our health or well being is in jeopardy.

II. REACTIVE
Beyond mere survival, we instinctively strive to exercise our power in the world: to compete, to achieve and to put our stamp on things. This is the God we invoke to champion the 'I', the 'me', and the 'mine', anticipating Divine assistance in fulfilling our personal needs, wants and desires.

III. RESTFUL AWARENESS
Rest and activity alternate in every part of the brain. This is the God of peace, who enables us to find a calm center in the midst of outward chaos. We turn to this God when we feel the outer word is swallowing us up in its endless turmoil.

IV. INTUITIVE
The God of the intuitive response supports our inner knowingness. When we respond intuitively we respond from the inside out. This is the God of understanding, acceptance and forgiveness. This response provides us insight into the deeper significance of life events.

V. CREATIVE
The human brain has the remarkable ability to invent new things and discover new facts. This creative ability appears to come from nowhere--the unknown simply gives rise to a new thought. We call this inspiration and its mirror is a Creator who made the whole world from nothingness. We turn to the God of the creative response when we are seeking innovative solutions to life's challenges.

VI. VISIONARY
The God of the visionary response is the God of light. The human nervous system is capable of accessing this response, which brings transformation, clarity, wonder, magic and healing. This is the God of miracles who reveals the higher states of consciousness available to human beings.

VII. SACRED
The human nervous system is born from a single fertilized cell that has no brain functions in it, only a speck of life. Despite the vast complexity of the nervous system that derived from this primordial cell, the brain senses its origins and essence as that speck of pure life energy. To match it, there is a God of pure being, one who doesn't think but just is. When we elicit the sacred God response, we see all of life as the cosmic play of forces, directed by a transcendent Divine Intelligence.

About Reiki - a brief introduction

REIKI HOLISTIC HEALING
Reiki (ray-key) is a Japanese word meaning Universal Life Force (Sarva-vyapi Prana Shakti) and a system of natural healing that channels Reiki through the hands. It is known by many other names also.
The traditional Asian medical paradigm views injury, dysfunction and disease as manifesting when subtle energies are weak, distorted or out-of-balance. Tai Chi, Acupuncture, Homeopathy, Hatha Yoga, Shiatsu, Polarity, Macrobiotics, Radionics, and herbal remedies are means of optimizing subtle auric and internal energies.
Reiki accesses the source of Life to heal the self and others on spiritual, mental, emotional and physical levels. Reiki allows the source of well being to enhance and balance natural life forces through non-intrusive therapeutic touch. It is applied for health maintenance, pain relief, and mental quietude and healing for physical and mental diseases.
Reiki augments and accelerates the inner healing process. It can be effective in cases that do not respond to other forms of treatment. It can be used in conjunction with any other therapeutic modality.
Creative energy is the essence of all healing. Dr. Albert Schweitzer said, "We physicians do nothing, we only help and encourage the physician within."
Reiki an ancient Divine Light Healing system practiced since time immemorial worldwide by the priests in the temples of the ancient civilizations of Atlantis and Egypt, was rediscovered in the late 1800's a specific formula for accessing Universal Life Force was discovered in Buddhist Lotus Verses (sutras) found in a Kyoto Zendo by a scholar seeking knowledge of what the Buddha taught about healing. Mikao Usui was contemplating what he had learned when he received a transcendental initiation, the results of which were the abilities of healing by laying on of the hands and of sending healing over distance. Much later he realized that the experience of God is more essential to fulfillment of the purpose of life than the power of healing.
Reiki is an essence, which comes from the Source of Life itself. Since Reiki is multi-dimensional it can be a catalytic factor in personal evolution no matter what religious beliefs are held. The experience of Reiki is a vehicle to becoming conscious of your own being regardless of faith or concepts. The innate ability to channel healing energy through the hands is awakened through a series of direct transmission initiations, which attune and align energy centers in the body and hands. Reiki is not a system of religious beliefs. The world does not need another. Anyone can learn Reiki; it is very simple.
Reiki relieves stress and pain, relaxes muscle spasms, releases emotional blockages, and accelerates natural healing. It stimulates the immune system; and balance subtle body energies, is beyond belief and can be used in conjunction with any other therapeutic modality. It is effective on chronic and acute illness or injury and can be learned by anyone. It uses laying on of the hands. The healing can also be sent over any distance, is a means of sharing love, is completely safe and benign. It protects the practitioner and is The Universal Life Force Energy.
The only way to know it is to feel it. If you are interested in having a treatment, look for a local Reiki Practitioner or Master. If you are interested in becoming a Reiki Practitioner look for your local Reiki Master.
